We share not just who they are, their journeys, and what inspires them, plus what their superpower could be, but also how we have collectively worked together. A perfect example of both mirroring progress and foresight?
Barbie. Hold up, give me a second to explain…
While Barbie has reflected real-world career advancements for women, Barbie has also been ahead of her time—taking on roles long before they were widely accessible, inspiring generations to dream bigger.
In 1992, Presidential Candidate Barbie was introduced—long before many women were seriously considered for the highest office—encouraging young girls to see themselves in leadership roles. The Campaign Team Barbie Set further highlights the many ways women contribute to politics, from campaign manager to policy advisor. Meanwhile, in space, Barbie has suited up as an astronaut multiple times since 1965, long before women were even allowed to join NASA’s astronaut program. More recently, Barbie honoured real-life astronauts like Samantha Cristoforetti, inspiring the next generation of women to reach for the stars—literally. Barbie has also reflected women’s achievements in politics and space exploration, proving that no dream is too big.
When Ruth Handler created Barbie in 1959, she wanted to show girls that they could truly be anything. Over the years, Barbie has had more than 250 careers—from astronaut to CEO—mirroring the growing opportunities for women in the real world. Well, enough about Barbies—let’s get back to the real world of the incredible four women we’re spotlighting this month!
Rachel Beacom is a Holistic Health Mentor who empowers busy mums to take control of their health naturally, simplify wellness, and nourish their families. Drawing from her own health journey and experience as a mother of six, she offers simple solutions and a supportive community to help women thrive naturally. Her brand focuses on conscious living, toxin-free choices, and holistic healing.
What Anema Designs created together with Rachel?
We crafted a minimalistic brand identity that reflects Rachel’s philosophy—calm, approachable, and easy to integrate. With a versatile logo suite, a fresh yet grounding color palette, and typography that feels warm and inviting, every detail was designed to support her mission. Because real wellness isn’t about doing it all—it’s about making it work for you.
Q: What fuels your passion for what you do, and how does your brand reflect that energy?
A: My passion is fuelled by my own journey, navigating motherhood, holistic healing, and the desire to create a life of freedom and wellness for my family. My brand reflects that energy by empowering women with knowledge, simple solutions, and a supportive community to help them thrive naturally.
Q: What did you want to be when you were younger?
A: I always knew I wanted to help. I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was young. I didn’t think people needed help, grown ups have it covered right? Life led me down a different path, and I realised that people really are suffering and while there are a lot of ‘band-aid’ solutions, the core of the problem needs healing. True health starts in the home, with the food we eat, the products we use, and the way we care for our body & mind.
Q: What’s the biggest advice you’ve received that changed your life?
A: “Be the example, not the echo.” This shifted everything for me, I stopped waiting for permission and started living in alignment with what I truly believe. Leading by example has shaped my brand, my family, and my purpose.
Q: Who do you look up to most, and how do they inspire your work and life?
A: I deeply admire any woman who create their own path while staying true to their values. Whether it’s a fellow mother, a mentor, or an entrepreneur, I’m inspired by those who embrace their power, stand firm in their beliefs, and uplift others along the way.
Q: Is there a quote, saying, or proverb you often turn to for motivation?
A: “The woman who moves mountains starts by carrying small stones.” It reminds me that big transformations start with small, consistent actions. Whether it’s health, business, or personal growth, every step matters. I think we all need that reminder.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
A: I’d choose the power to heal instantly! Physically, emotionally, and spiritually. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone step into their healthiest, happiest self, and I’d love to speed up that transformation for people.
Q: What would you say to your younger self now having had your experience to date?
A: Trust your instincts. The world will try to convince you to follow the ‘normal’ path, but your intuition already knows the way. Stay curious, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to carve your own path! It leads to exactly where you’re meant to be.
Winnie is founder of Movement Laboratory, a physiotherapy and Pilates clinic; Papaya Clinic, an integrative women's health clinic; and The Clinic Project, a consultancy and networking circle to help women clinic owners scale their business through strategy, masterminds and in person events.
What Anema Designs created together with Winnie?
We created custom visual illustrations for Papaya Clinic, highlighting different demographics with a focus on women's health. To make them unique, we incorporated distinctive architectural elements from the clinic's design, adding a bespoke touch. These illustrations and icons are featured in a women’s health program on the website. By incorporating the brand’s visual identity colours and expanding on them, we ensured a cohesive and consistent visual language throughout..
Q: What fuels your passion for what you do, and how does your brand reflect that energy?
A: My main driver is to better healthcare delivery for the modern patient, through building innovative clinics, patient journeys, integrating digital health solutions, and re-shape what patient centered care looks like. Whilst the health system is not an overnight fix and contributes to lots of our industry troubles, we can change patient care from the ground up and be the driver of change. Papaya Clinic is exactly that, we provide collaborative holistic healthcare addressing the four pillars of health - pelvic health, hormonal health, emotional health and nutritional health. We are the first clinic to deliver hybrid health programs in Sydney for women's health conditions.
Q: What did you want to be when you were younger?
A: A ballerina. I was absolutely obsessed. I danced until I had my firstborn in 2020. It's still a big part of my life.
Q: What’s the biggest advice you’ve received that changed your life?
A: Every experience leads to something bigger. Experience more.
Q: Who do you look up to most, and how do they inspire your work and life?
A: My all time favourite coach - Daniel Priestly. He's also the author of a few books and I attended a program of his sometime ago which completely changed my view of business. I cannot summarise his wisdom in a few sentences, look at his most recent 2 (two) hour interview with Steven Bartlett on youtube. In a nutshell, he gave me structure and clarity in business.
Q: Is there a quote, saying or proverb you often turn to for motivation? What is it, and why does it resonate with you?
A: John Miltons 'The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.' It has stuck with me since high school. I have moved countries a few times, changed my career and made some big pivots. I think it spoke to me about adaptation, flexibility and mindset, and most of all, that we are in control of our perception.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
A: To tell captivating stories. I am too factual, and haven't mastered the skill of storytelling yet. It's an important social skill!
Q: What would you say to your younger self now having had your experience to date?
A: Start the business sooner. Invest younger. Empathy is not reciprocal, so give wisely. Hold your boundaries.
Laura owns and works in Timpano Legal and Be Life.
Timpano Legal is a criminal defence law firm which has been in operation for near on 20 years. We have a head office in Perth but we travel all over the State. We have a team of lawyers experienced in acting for individuals who have had an interaction with the criminal law jurisdiction, whether it be from simple road traffic offences to the most serious and high profile crimes in the State. We believe we provide our clients with an edge in that we seek to address not only their legal issues but consider their social, emotional and psychological and sometimes psychiatric issues. That overarching consideration is really what has driven my passion for founding Be Health and Life Wellness.
Be Health and Life Wellness is dedicated to transforming lives through compassionate mental health support, helping individuals overcome challenges and rediscover their strength.
Be Life has an incredible team of psychologists, counsellors and holistic practitioners who offer bespoke services and packages that prioritise confidentiality and convenience for those whose lives don't fit into a 9-5 schedule and support a range of clients from recovery seekers and resilience revivers to future-ready forgers.
What Anema Designs created together with Laura?
We designed custom, bespoke illustrations to visually explain the journey of someone starting with Be Life and their progress. Featured on the website, these illustrations incorporate subtle visual metaphors like "weight of the world" and "all the king's men…" to enhance the storytelling. We ensured a consistent visual language that complements the brand identity, while also prioritising the flow of information and a seamless user experience.
Q: What fuels your passion for what you do, and how does your brand reflect that energy?
A: I have a firm and innate belief that every person if given the tools and access to support the best version of self, can rise beyond their circumstances to thrive and live mentally well and fulfilling lives. I've seen what support can do when people have the courage and commitment to seek and make continuous and repetitive efforts to engage in therapeutic and wholistic support. If we support a growth mindset we set ourselves up for success and happiness.
Q: What did you want to be when you were younger?
A: I have always wanted first to be a criminal defence lawyer and secondly a psychologist or counsellor so it's uncanny that after practicing in criminal law for over 20 years I have been able to fulfil another dream of mine through Be. Be is an avenue which lets me pursue my passion and belief that if people have access to the right supports they can overcome the frailties of the human mind when it comes to their mental health.
Q: What’s the biggest advice you’ve received that changed your life?
A: Always have the courage to be me, have the courage to do and make choices in alignment with self and it will result in having happiness and achieving success in life. Be Do Have :)))
Q: Is there a quote, saying or proverb you often turn to for motivation? What is it, and why does it resonate with you?
A: 'Rise above it' or 'let it be' or 'it is what it is' these are all sayings which express a similar theme - No matter what the problem, frailty, or circumstance. If we can rise above the milieus of the emotions of life and see things for what they are we can often recognise how we can impact a situation in a more positive way or simply let it be...
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
A: To cure all individuals of their mental health frailties.
Q: What would you say to your younger self now having had your experience to date?
A: Always have the courage to follow your gut. Those instincts are what always 'set you free' in that they often support good choices.
As a Holistic Coach, Tanya empowers business owners, leaders, and executives to align their personal growth with their professional success. My focus lies in creating thriving businesses and fulfilled individuals by addressing three critical areas: Business, Health, and Personal Fulfilment. When these align, the results are transformational—clarity, balance, and sustainable success.
With over 24 years of experience owning, operating, and expanding businesses across Perth and internationally—including five years in the United States—Tanya brings both the strategic knowledge and personal insight needed to guide others. Her journey has included roles in government, not-for-profit leadership, and entrepreneurial ventures, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on leadership and growth.
What Anema Designs created together with Tanya?
We collaborated with Tanya, starting with brand strategy, then developing a visual brand identity, and followed by creating collateral such as social media assets, presentations, and website design. The goal was to authentically reflect Tanya's strategy, core values, and mission. We also incorporated elements of outdoor activities and sports to align with Tanya's ethos and her background in health and fitness.
Q: What fuels your passion for what you do, and how does your brand reflect that energy?
A: With a background in health and fitness, I believe it’s essential for business leaders to look after their health and take time to enjoy life. My brand energy reflects quality, with a balance of seriousness and fun.
Q: What did you want to be when you were younger?
A: I wanted to be a zoologist. I loved panda bears and pigs as a child.
Q: What’s the biggest advice you’ve received that changed your life?
A: This is a hard one. I’d say it came from reading James Clear’s book Atomic Habits and learning the power of focusing on just 1% improvement each day rather than fixating on the end goal. If you improve by 1% each day, you’ll be 37 times better by the end of the year!
Q: Who do you look up to most, and how do they inspire your work and life?
A: I’ve had so many business coaches, mentors, and teachers throughout my professional career. At the moment, though, I’ve just finished listening to Mel Robbins’ book Let Them, and I regularly listen to her podcast. I love how real and vulnerable she is—her messages are simple yet have a big impact on my work and life.
Q: Is there a quote, saying or proverb you often turn to for motivation? What is it, and why does it resonate with you?
A: It’s actually a quote from Albert Einstein: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.”
This resonates with me deeply—if something isn’t working, switch lanes!
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
A: I would love to time-travel. How amazing would it be to go back in time and experience different moments in history?
Q: What would you say to your younger self now having had your experience to date?
A: Enjoy the journey—it’s a long one! And don’t put so much unnecessary pressure on yourself.
