Melissa came to Anema Designs to have some rebranding done that effectively communicates what she does and connects with the right people. The rebranding we did was looking at her visual brand identity holistically with not just a basic foundation of colours, typography and logo suite, but looking at it as a system with including graphic elements and mockup’s that help communicate and inspire Melissa’s audience. Think of your visual brand identity as a versatile toolkit, where each element—whether it's a graphic or a brand component—is readily available for use when needed. However, the key lies in maintaining consistency throughout, ensuring that your brand remains recognisable and cohesive across all channels and touch points.

The Story

We worked with Melissa Lithgow on rebranding with providing a new visual brand identity and collaborating with Wayfarer Designs in the website design and development.

This involved the creation of a strategic visual brand identity, seamlessly extending into website. Having the understanding and clarity of what Melissa does, including knowing her target audience, purpose, and vision really provided the platform to create epic visuals that helps her stand out in the marketplace and represent her mission.

The rebrand’s main focus is to provide branding that encapsulates Mel's mission to “strengthen and refocus the relationships between individuals, recognising that these connections are vital for success. By nurturing deeper connections, we can create a world where everyone feels secure, valued, and part of something greater.” Mel is dedicated to driving meaningful change and fostering strong connections and is passionate about the power of human relationships with Strategic Leadership and Communication. We used the graphic elements in the visual brand identity to represent the human connection and the impact relationships has.

  • The graphics are inspired by neurons that connect, they play a cruicial role in a functioning nervous system and if they don’t connect there’s a big issue.

    In strategic leadership and communication, the analogy of neurons in the nervous system can be profoundly insightful. Just as neurons form intricate networks to transmit vital information throughout the body, strategic leaders must foster connections within their organisation to ensure effective communication and cohesive operations.

    Consider your visual brand elements as the neurons of your organisation's nervous system. Each graphic and brand element represents a connection point, facilitating the flow of ideas, information, and vision. When these elements are strategically aligned and interconnected, they contribute to the seamless transmission of your organisation's mission, values, and goals.

  • This is the letter ‘M’ and ‘L’ that forms connection. The synapse is the terminal region of the axon and it is here where one neuron forms a connection with another and conveys information through the process of synaptic transmission.

    This is simple and round which compliments the more dramatic logotype. This is more of a descriptor of the ML.
